HandsOn would love to help you find the opportunities you
need; we have gathered these resources for your use. We would like to note that though we will do everything we can to help you,
we cannot guarantee that you will be able to
fulfill all of your volunteer hours using these tools.
Verification of your
Volunteer Hours
HandsOn does not verify volunteer hours. You will need to
have the organizations you volunteer with sign off on all of your hours. Contacting Organizations
Some agencies won’t work with court-ordered volunteers, or
do so only on a limited basis. Please keep in mind that you may have to
work with several organizations to fulfill the amount of hours you have been
assigned. Before calling an organization think about - What sort of volunteer work interests you?
- What are your skills and talents?
- When are you available?
- Can you get to the organizations location?
When you call be sure to: - Be upfront with the organization and explain why you are calling
- Tell them how many hours you need and how soon
- Explain your transportation capabilities
- Tell them what sort of verification you need
