SAMPLE SERVICE DAY PROJECTS

Below are just a few projects to help spark ideas of how HandsOn volunteers can help your organization.

  • Assemble small toiletry kits; disaster kits; new mom kits, etc.
  • Make potted tissue flowers to brighten the rooms of patients and families
  • Paint a mural
  • Help with home repairs for clients
  • Sort food and stock shelves
  • Assemble furniture
  • Create a reading corner
  • Staff a pet adoption outing
  • Create pillow cases for therapeutic maternity rice pillows
  • Create birthday cards for elders
  • Design and decorate donation bins
  • Clean up a park
  • Take a census of park users or farmer’s market attendees
  • Staff a festival
  • Sort donations
  • Paint a blacktop with hopscotch or four square games
  • Conduct a book drive or supply inventory
  • Assist with a mailing
  • Make blankets for children
  • Give your building a spring cleaning
  • Touch up paint on walls, doors, fence, etc.
  • Clean animal shelter stalls and give homeless pups some love
  • Mulch and plant flowers or trees
  • Create holiday table centerpieces
  • Clean a local waterway or road
  • Create snacks to hang from trees for area animals
