Hands On Greater Richmond can connect your nonprofit agency to community volunteers.
As a Hands On Greater Richmond partner, you can post your volunteer opportunities on our website, have access to Hands on Greater Richmond Team Leaders (Activate Calendar projects only), and partner with us and regional companies for our Corporate Cares program.
We connect commmunity agencies with volunteers through a variety of programs including the Activate Calendar and our Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities.
Activate Calendar
What types of projects can we help with through the Activate Calendar?
- One-time or episodic group projects
- Average group size of 5 to 15 volunteers
- Projects scheduled at least 4-6 weeks in advance
- Projects that do not require advanced training or orientation sessions
- Projects that average 2-6 hours in length
- Priority is given to non-fundraising activities
Projects that can be listed on the Activate Calendar fall into one of two categories:
Team Led Projects
A dedicated Hands On Team Leader works with each nonprofit organization to coordinate one-time or episodic volunteer opportunities.
Email Sign Up Only Projects
Hands On Greater Richmond will also host up to five referral projects (no Team Leader assigned) each month. These projects appear on our Activate Calendar but volunteers are simply referred to the agency via email. Hands On Greater Richmond is not on site during this event.
Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Your needs and creativity are the only limit! This is a great place to post longer term, unique, skill based requests. All opportunities are posted for as long or as little a time frame as you need
